MUNCIE, Ind. – The Northern Illinois University women's tennis team fell to Ball State, 7-0, Friday afternoon in Muncie as the Cardinals' improved their season record to 14-3 on the season, 3-1 versus Mid-American Conference opponents.
With the loss, NIU's dual match record is even at 11-11 on the year, 1-3 in the MAC.
The Huskies' number one doubles team of
Erika Dimitriev and
Nataly Ninova was knotted in a 3-3 battle with Amy Kaplan and Annika Planinsek of Ball State before BSU claimed the doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
BSU also dominated the singles matches with freshman Ninova the only Huskie able to win a set. She opened her match at No. 4 singles by taking the first set, 6-4, before Planinsek came back to win the next two sets.

Diana Lukyanova also played a tight match at No. 2 singles. She lost the first set in a tiebreaker before dropping the second set to Kaplan by a score of 6-3.
NIU next travels to Kalamazoo, Michigan to take on Western Michigan on Sunday, April 2. That match begins at Noon (CT).
