DeKALB, IL – Fresh off a come-from-behind victory over Louisiana on Monday at the NIU Convocation Center, the Northern Illinois University women's basketball team heads out on the road for the first time this season to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes on Wednesday night. Tip-off is at 6:30 p.m.

NIU (1-0) held the Ragin' Cajuns scoreless for the last 8:37 on Monday, finishing the game on an 11-0 run to win 57-55. The Huskies forced four turnovers and 12 consecutive missed shots from Louisiana to rally back for their fourth consecutive home opener win.
Brooke Stonebraker (Versailles, Ohio/Versailles) put NIU ahead with 0:29 left in the fourth then blocked a shot on Louisiana's final possession, her career-high fourth of the day.
Chelby Koker (Racine, Wis./Shoreland Lutheran) led all players with 18 points, adding nine rebounds and nine assists. Koker was 5-for-6 from the three-point line, her 11
th career game with at least four threes. She became the sixth NIU women's basketball player to eclipse 200 career three-pointers made. As a team, NIU was 11-for-27 from the three-point line in Monday's win.
The Huskies head to Iowa City for the first time in seven years to take on Iowa. The Hawkeyes lead the all-time series against NIU 12-8 and have won the last three meetings, including a 105-80 victory on Nov. 15, 2017. Iowa has reached the national championship game in each of the last two seasons. The Hawkeyes defeated Missouri Western 110-55 in exhibition action on Oct. 30. Hannah Stuelke and Teagan Mallegni each had a team-high 18 points. Stuelke was a Second Team All-Big Ten selection a year ago and is Iowa's leading returning scorer at 14.0 points per game.
NIU returns to the Convocation Center on Sunday, Nov. 10 to take on St. Thomas at 1 p.m. for Hometown Heroes Day. Women's basketball season tickets, as well as single-game tickets, are on sale now at NIUHuskies.com and by calling the NIU Athletics Ticket Office at (815) 753-PACK (7225). Pricing starts at just $35 for general admission seats and $50 for reserved tickets located in section 103 as well as 111-113. Courtside seat season tickets for NIU women's basketball are available for $275 which includes the cost of a season ticket plus a $225 per seat license. Single-game tickets are $6 for general admission and $8 for reserved seats.
