YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Northern Illinois University women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision at Eastern Michigan Friday in its only match of the weekend. 
 
NIU sophomore Isabella Righi earned the Huskies' lone point with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles over EMU's Ksyusha Saenko. The only other match to go three sets was at No. 5 singles where NIU's Reagan Welch won the second set in her match with Linda Eloundou before falling 6-4 in the third.
 
The Eagles won the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, then took singles matches on the third and sixth lines to take a 3-0 lead. EMU's Prema Vichare clinched the victory with a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles.
 
With the loss, NIU fell to 12-8 overall, 1-3 in the MAC. Eastern Michigan evened its record at 8-8, 2-2 MAC.
 
The Huskies have a rematch with the Eagles next Friday at 1 p.m. (CT) in DeKalb, one of just three remaining home matches for NIU this season.
