DeKALB, Ill.— Northern Illinois University head coach
Sondra Parys announced the addition of Alexa Hayes to the 2024 Huskies Volleyball roster on April 3.
Hayes, a right-side hitter, comes to the Huskies after spending a season at Tyler Junior College (Texas). Hayes saw action in all 33 matches for Tyler, recording 310 kills, seven aces, and 77 total blocks.
Hayes was a three-year member of the Magnolia West High School (Magnolia, Texas) volleyball program, earning offensive MVP her senior season and two-time all-conference second team member. Hayes tallied 331 kills, nine aces, and 85 total blocks.

Sondra Parys. "Through the recruiting process, it was clear (to our staff) that she is a high-level competitor. Her sincere gratitude for the opportunity to be a part of our program was one of the many reasons we believe she will be a positive addition to our roster this fall."
Hayes is the sixth addition to the Huskies for 2024, joining Rylea Alvin (Randolph, Wis./Randolph), Ava Grevengoed (Shorewood, Illinois/Joliet West), Emma McCartney (Chardon, Ohio/Chardon), Ella Strausberg (Plainfield, Illinois/Plainfield North), and
Kylie Schulze (Wonder Lake, Ill./Woodstock North/Loyola Chicago).
