DeKALB, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University football team travels to UMass for its final road game of the season on Wednesday, Nov. 12. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. on ESPNU.
The radio pregame show will begin at 5:30 p.m. on 94-9 WDKB with Andy Garcia, Mark Lindo and Terry Bonadonna.
NIU fell to Toledo last week, 42-3, on Wednesday night. Redshirt freshman wide receiver
Rickey Taylor Jr. (Chicago, Ill./Brother Rice) led the Huskies in receiving, posting a career-high 69 yards on three receptions.
On the defensive side of the ball, redshirt senior linebacker
Quinn Urwiler (Mooseheart, Ill./North Dakota) recorded 13 tackles and now has 110 on the season. Urwiler is the first NIU player to have at least 100 tackles in a season since C.J. Brown in 2021. Redshirt sophomore linebacker
Filip Maciorowski (Carol Stream, Ill./Glenbard West) finished with 11 tackles and a tackle for loss.
UMass (0-9, 0-5 MAC) comes into the game following a 44-10 loss at Akron. The Minutemen are led by first-year head coach Joe Harasymiak. Wide Receiver Jacquon Gibson is sixth in the Mid-American Conference in receiving yards with 393 yards on 42 catches this season.
Linebacker Tyler Martin is UMass' leading tackler with 72 stops. Defensive Lineman Marques White has 10.5 tackles for loss, ranking fifth in the MAC, with five sacks this season.
It's the fourth meeting between the Huskies and Minutemen with NIU holding a 3-0 record. Last season, the Huskies ran for 367 yards and four touchdowns in a 34-20 win at Huskie Stadium.
NIU returns home for its final two games of the season. Up next, the Huskies host Western Michigan for a Tuesday night matchup for a 6 p.m. kickoff on Nov. 18.
