Huskies Host Ohio for Final Home Weekend

Women's Volleyball | November 5

DeKALB, Ill.—Hosting their final two home games of the regular season, the Northern Illinois University Huskies volleyball team (11-12, 4-10 MAC) will host the University of Ohio Bobcats (11-15, 9-5 MAC) for a two-game series inside Victor E. Court. First serve is set for 6 p.m. on November 7 before concluding the series on November 8 at 4 p.m.
 
Friday's theme is "Country Night" with fans encouraged to wear their best Western attire and cheer on the Huskies. Post-match autographs with the team will happen following the game.
 
Prior to Saturday's match, the Huskies will honor the senior class.
 
Friday's game will be live streamed via NIUHuskies.com due to home women's basketball. Join Terry Bonadonna and Sam Grams, NIU '12, on the call on Saturday night on ESPN+.

Previewing the Bobcats
 
Bailey Blair leads the Bobcats with 2.96 kills per set (293 this season) and is joined by Torre Kildow, Gentry Brown, and Olivia Gardner with over 2.14 or more kills per set. Kendall White and Bryn Janke team up in the setter position, averaging 6.88 and 5.21 assists per set.
 
Behind the service line, Mady Long leads the team with 30 aces this season. Kendall Hickey leads defensive efforts for the Bobcats with 2.93 digs per season. Brown and Long round out the top-3 for digs over 2.06 per set for Ohio.
 
The Bobcats took the meeting last season, a three-set sweep of the Huskies in DeKalb. NIU last won against Ohio in DeKalb in 2019, a four-set battle in late October.

The Huskies enter their final home weekend with a 7–3 record, securing their first winning home season since 2022 and fifth since 2015.

Emma McCartney (Cleveland, Ohio/Chadron) is leading the Huskies with 261 kills this season, an average of 2.93 per set. Ava Grevengoed (Shorewood, Ill./Joliet West) is the second Huskie above 200 kills (257 total), averaging 2.82 per set.            
 
A strength this season, Jordyn Tynsky (Denton, Texas/Denton-Guyer) and Autumn Flynn (Luxemburg, Wis./Luxemburg-Casco) lead NIU with a combined 50 aces.
 
Tynsky is leading dig efforts for the Huskies with 251 this season, an average of 3.02 per set. Grevengoed is the second Huskies with 200+ digs, sitting at 205 (2.25 per set).
 
Rylea Alvin (Randolph, Wis./Randolph) leads NIU with 89 total blocks this season, an average of 1.03 per set. Alvin and McCartney are both in the top-10 in the MAC for blocks and points per set.
