DeKALB, IL – Four members of the Northern Illinois University football team earned All Mid-American Conference honors on Thursday as the league released it's All-MAC teams and postseason awards, voted on by the MAC head coaches.
Quinn Urwiler (Mooseheart, Ill./North Dakota) was named to the All-MAC Second Team defense while
Evan Malcore (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie East),
Chavon Wright (Opa Locka, Fla./Charleston) and
Dev'ion Reynolds (Zion, Ill./Carmel) earning spots on the All-MAC Third Team. All four Huskies earned their first career MAC postseason honors.

Thomas Hammock. "I'm extremely proud of Quinn, who took on a new role this season and made the most of it. Evan was the anchor of our offensive line and has been a solid left tackle in his career. Chavon went out and competed each and every week, completing a stellar college career. Dev'ion not only contributed this season as a kick returner, but he was part of one of the top passing defenses in the country."
Urwiler finished the regular season leading the nation with 5.92 solo tackles per game. He tied Red Murdock of Buffalo for the MAC lead in tackles with 11.8 per game which put him second in the country. Urwiler had a total of 141 tackles in 2025, the most by an NIU defender since 1992. He is the fourth Huskie since 1990 to have at least 140 tackles in a season. Urwiler was named MAC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after having 12 tackles with his first career forced fumble and interception against Kent State.
Malcore started every game at left tackle over the last two seasons. The lone returning starter on the offensive line this season, the redshirt-junior helped lead the Huskies to 187.1 rushing yards per game, third-most in the conference. Wright led NIU with 875 rushing yards in 2025 and tied for the team-lead in touchdowns with five. He put the exclamation point on his career with a season-high 185 rushing yards and two scores on Senior Day against Kent State. Wright finished his career with 80 career rushing touchdowns, tops across all NCAA divisions, and 5,801 rushing yards which are second-most among all active players.
Reynolds was third in the MAC in kickoff return yards, averaging 25.3 yards per return. That put him 15
th in the Football Bowl Subdivision. His 96-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the season opener powered NIU to a 19-17 win over Holy Cross. He also had a 69-yard return against Ohio on Oct. 18. Reynolds had a career-high seven tackles and two pass breakups in NIU's 21-7 win over Ball State.
