Two Huskies Named to Men’s Tennis Academic All-MAC

Cleveland, Ohio. – The Mid-American Conference named two Northern Illinois University student-athletes to the men's tennis Academic All-MAC team on Monday.

Iker Gaztambide Arrastia and Sam Klein both earned the honors by receiving a grade point average of 3.20 or higher and participating in at least half of the Huskies duals this season.

First-year students and transfer students in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.

Iker Gaztambide Arrastia, a junior from Pamplona, Spain participated in 22 of NIU's 23 matches in 2025 and played at singles and doubles in all 22. Gaztambide Arrastia posted a record of 14-8 while playing in 21 duals at No. 1 singles. Gaztambide Arrastia earned a GPA of 3.411 while
majoring in Industrial Management and Technology.

Sam Klein, a sophomore from Elm Grove, Wis. Played in 21 duals at No. 2 doubles and played 12 matches in singles play. Klein earned nine wins in doubles play in 2025. Klein posted an impressive 3.841 GPA while majoring in finance.
