Logan Gregorio (Naperville, Ill./Benedictine) and senior first baseman
Gavin Baldwin (Nashville, Ill./SEMO) of the Northern Illinois University baseball team earned postseason accolades from the Mid-American Conference on Tuesday as the league announced its 2025 awards.
"Logan and Gavin had outstanding years for us, especially on the offensive side," said head coach
Ryan Copeland. "Our offense was able to break several records and these two were a huge factor in that."
Gregorio and Baldwin were instrumental in the 2025 NIU Huskies setting single-season records of 82 home runs, 259 walks, 382 runs batted in and 416 runs scored. NIU also set single-game records with 27 runs and 17 walks in its 27-11 win at Northwestern on April 15.
Gregorio was named to the All-MAC Second Team after finishing the season second in the MAC in RBI, third in home runs and fifth in doubles. The junior catcher hit 18 home runs and had 69 RBI, marks that are the second-most in a single season in NIU history. He also led NIU with a .332 batting average. Gregorio had a season-high five hits and five RBI in the Huskies' 14-8 win at Kent State on March 8. He was named MAC Player of the Week on March 10 after hitting .533 with a 1.267 slugging percentage in NIU's series against the Golden Flashes. Gregorio had 21 multi-hit games and 12 games with three RBI or more.
Baldwin also earned a spot on the All-MAC Second Team, giving NIU multiple All-MAC honorees for the second consecutive season. The senior hit .322 with 15 home runs and 57 RBI, tying for the team lead in walks with 29. On March 16, Baldwin tied the NIU single-game home run record with three at Miami while tying his season-high with five RBI. He also tied the single-game walks record with four in NIU's 27-11 win at Northwestern on April 15. Baldwin hit NIU's single-season record-breaking 71
st home run this season at Milwaukee on April 29. He finished the year in the top 10 of the MAC in home runs, doubles, RBI and slugging percentage.
