DeKALB, Ill.-- The Northern Illinois University women's tennis program earned All-Academic Team recognition with six Huskies being named Scholar Athletes by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), as announced today (July 21).
To be eligible to qualify as an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must maintain a 3.20 grade-point average or above. A student-athlete must manage a 3.50 grade-point average for the current academic year to be eligible for ITA Scholar Athlete recognition.
In 2025, 1,462 Division I women's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 222 women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
As a team, the Huskies posted a 3.741 GPA during the 2025 spring semester.

Nataly Ninova,
Maria Dzemeshkevich,
Erika Dimitriev,
Isabella Righi, and
Reagan Welch earned Scholar Athlete honors. Righi and Welch earn the honor for the second straight year.
Dzemeshkevich (Software Development), Dimitriev (Operations and Information Management), Righi (Biomedical Engineering), and Welch (Psychology) led the Huskies with a 4.0 GPA during the spring semester. Ninova (Manufacturing Engineering Technology) maintained a 3.934 GPA while Kousiou (Kinesiology) posted a 3.833 mark.
