DeKALB, IL – The Northern Illinois University football team will kick off at 2:30 p.m. (CT) on Saturday, Oct. 4 as the Huskies take on the Miami RedHawks in the annual NIU Homecoming game at Huskie Stadium.
The game against Miami is the culmination of Homecoming Week as NIU celebrates its 118
th Homecoming, marking the oldest celebration of its kind in the state of Illinois. Television information for the game will be announced at a later date.
It is also the fifth meeting all-time between NIU and Miami with the Mallory Cup on the line. The Mallory Cup was created to honor the late Bill Mallory, who coached at both NIU and Miami and led both programs to Mid-American Conference titles in a hall of fame career. The game also is NIU's MAC opener as the Huskies' begin their final season in the conference before moving to the Mountain West in the 2026 season.
