VALPARAISO, Ind. – The Northern Illinois University women's tennis team recorded its first road win of the dual season with a 6-1 victory at Valparaiso.

Theodora Kousiou sealed the doubles point for NIU with a 7-5 win in a match that lasted just under an hour.
Horne (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) notched the first win in singles for the Huskies as the senior prevailed over Jolene Fernandes 6-1, 6-3.
NIU sealed the victory following wins from a pair of sophomores in
Lucia Yecora (Seville, Spain/IES V Centenario School) and
Theodora Kousiou (Thessaloniki, Greece/Aristotelio College).
NIU welcomes Butler and Minnesota to the Nelson Tennis Center at Chick Evans Field House next weekend. First up is Butler at 3 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 30 and then Minnesota is slated for a 6 p.m. start on Saturday.
