Men's Tennis | November 4

DeKALB, Ill. – The ITA Conference Masters is set for Thursday, Nov. 5 through Sunday, Nov. 8 at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Ga. Constantin Radu of the Northern Illinois University men's tennis team will represent both the Huskies and Horizon League in the tournament.

NIU has now sent a representative to the Conference Masters in back-to-back seasons, co-championing the singles back draw last fall. Four singles players will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship and two doubles teams will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship this weekend.

Radu won the Horizon League Singles Fall Championship on Sept. 27, earning the bid to represent the conference after a 6-7 (1), 6-4, 6-1 win over Belmont's Jesus Mario Salgado.

A newcomer for the Huskies, Radu has burst onto the scene with a team-high 11 singles wins this fall. Radu strung together 10 consecutive wins across three tournaments in September.

Radu will be facing No. 3 seed Niksa Arsic of Texas Tech, who earned All-Big 12 First Team Singles and Doubles in the spring.
