Huskies Return Home to Host Ohio Saturday Afternoon

DEKALB, Ill. – Coming off a road victory at Buffalo, the Northern Illinois University men's basketball team will be back home in the NIU Convocation Center on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 21, as the Huskies host Ohio. Tipoff against the Bobcats is slated for 2 p.m. with tickets available now at NIUHuskies.com/tickets, the contest will also be available on ESPN+ as well as WDKB 94-9 FM.

Gianni Cobb (Chicago, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) led the way in Tuesday night's win at Buffalo with a career-high 23 points, going 7-of-14 from the floor and 4-of-8 from three-point range, as the Huskies topped the Bulls, 72-70. The Huskies shot 60.9 percent (14-of-23) from the field in the second half, including 66.7 percent (8-of-12) from three.

Dylan Ducommun (Geneva, Switzerland) recorded his first career double-double with 14 points and a career-best 10 assists against the Bulls. Ducommun is averaging 7.0 assists per game over the last four games.

Ducommun is the fifth Huskie to record a double-double this season, joining Cobb, Makhai Valentine (Munhall, Pa./Steel Valley), Taj Walters (Bronx, N.Y./Moravian Prep) and Gustav Winther (Roskilde, Denmark).

Valentine made a trio of three-point field goals in the win over Buffalo and now has 63 triples for the season, moving him into 10th on NIU's single-season three-point field goal list.

The Bobcats come to DeKalb with a 14-13 overall record, including an 8-6 mark in league play. Ohio is coming off a 69-57 home victory over Ball State on Tuesday (Feb. 17). Three players score in double figures for Ohio, led by 16.8 points per game from Jackson Paveletzke, who is also third in the league averaging 5.2 assists per game.

This will be the 67th all-time meeting between the Huskies and Bobcats. Ohio has won six-straight in the series, including an 80-77 victory earlier this season in Athens (Jan. 20).

NIU will head back on the road on Tuesday, Feb. 24, when the Huskies travel to Toledo before returning home next Saturday, Feb. 28, for NIU's annual Cram the Convo doubleheader. Tickets for all remaining Huskie home games are available now at NIUHuskies.com/tickets.
