PEORIA, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University women's tennis team fell 4-3 at Bradley on Friday night following a 12-day layoff. The loss is the first of the month for the Huskies, stopping the NIU winning streak at five matches.
NIU dropped the doubles point for the first time since its match against North Dakota on Feb. 6.

Jenna Horne were ahead 5-3 at No. 3, but the match was suspended once the Braves secured the point.
In singles, senior
Nataly Ninova (Palma de Mallorca, Spain / IES Centre De Tecnificacio Esportiva IB) pulled out a three-set victory over Mariia Pukhina, winning 6-4, 6-7 (2-7), 6-3. Freshman
Rebeca Garcia Miralles (Castellón, Spain / IES Sos Baynat) defeated Chia-En Hsieh 6-4, 6-2 at No. 5. Both Ninova and Garcia Miralles are both riding six-match winning streaks.
Senior
Isabella Righi (Palma de Mallorca, Spain / IES Centre de Tecnificacio Esportiva IB) won at No. 6 due to walkover, 6-4, 2-1 (ret).
NIU will play Kansas City in a neutral site match at Bradley tomorrow and travel to Western Illinois on Sunday.
