DeKALB, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University women's tennis team hosts a pair of conference opponents this weekend, facing Buffalo at 10 a.m. on Friday and Western Michigan at 12 p.m. on Sunday.
NIU (15-4, 1-1 MAC) split its road Mid-American Conference matches last weekend, outlasting Eastern Michigan and falling to Toledo. Both matches ended by score of 4-3.
Nataly Ninova (Palma de Mallorca, Spain / IES Centre De Tecnificacio Esportiva IB) clinched the match against Eastern Michigan and recorded at three-set win against Toledo, moving to 15-4 on the dual season.
Rebeca Garcia Miralles (Castellón, Spain / IES Sos Baynat) kicked her winning streak to 12 matches with wins at No. 5 and No. 6.

Lucia Yecora were 2-0 at No. 2 doubles over the weekend and are winners of three straight matches.
NIU fell to Buffalo in the MAC Championship last season while defeating the Bulls in the regular season. The Huskies defeated Western Michigan twice in 2025 and have won three of the last four matchups.
The Opponents
Buffalo (14-4, 1-0 MAC) snapped a three-match losing skid last weekend with a 6-1 win over Ball State. The Bulls are the reigning conference champions and are led by Esmee Andresen, All-MAC First Team select last season and is 11-5 at No. 1 singles this year.
Western Michigan (9-5, 0-1 MAC) had its six-match winning streak end on Sunday with a 4-3 loss to Miami. Lola Glantz / Ayana Yaguchi and Marielou Baudouin / Frida Weijerman are both 5-0 in doubles this season. Yaguchi has won seven straight singles matches for the Broncos.
