NIU Returns Home to Host Bowling Green

DeKALB, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University women's tennis team is back at home this Sunday, taking on Bowling Green at 12 p.m. Sunday's match will be at the Nelson Tennis Center at Chick Evans Field House, admission is free.

NIU has won the last three meetings against the Falcons, winning each match by score of 6-1.

Sophomores Irmak Budak (Istanbul, Turkey / SAJEV) and Lucia Yecora (Seville, Spain / IES V Centenario School) each recorded their first conference singles wins of the season with victories over Miami this past Friday.

Budak / Jenna Horne recorded a doubles win for the Huskies on Friday, their second consecutive doubles win in conference play.

Senior Nataly Ninova (Palma de Mallorca, Spain / IES Centre De Tecnificacio Esportiva IB) added singles win against Miami, putting the senior one win away from breaking the program's all-time combined career wins record.

Bowling Green (7-11, 1-4 MAC) has dropped its last three matches and will host Buffalo on Friday. Tia Clemens, the 2024 Leann Grimes Davidge Sportsmanship Award winner, is 13-9 at No. 1 singles this season.
