Colin Hardrick Joins Huskie Men’s Basketball Program

DEKALB, Ill. – Northern Illinois University men's basketball head coach Matt Majkrzak announced on Friday (April 17) the addition of Colin Hardrick (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) to the Huskie program for the 2026-27 season. Hardrick is the second player signee announced for the upcoming season with more additions to be announced.

"Colin is someone we recruited out of high school and was one of our first targets at NIU," said Majkrzak. "He brings great size, athleticism, and feel to the guard spot. At 6-foot-4, he has tremendous length for a point guard to compliment his passing and scoring ability. He has a knack for the ball, leading his team in both steals and rebounds and will be a key part of making sure we win both the turnover and rebounding battle on a night-in and night-out basis. On top of that, he has the 'it factor' and has made a lot of huge plays down the stretch throughout his career."

Hardrick comes to NIU from Drury University, where he averaged 15.5 points and 6.7 rebounds per game this past season while earning Second Team All-Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) honors and GLVC All-Defensive Team recognition. The 6-foot-3 Hardrick was a GLVC All-Freshman Team and All-Defensive Team selection in 2024-25 when he averaged 10.2 points, 6.7 rebounds and a conference-best 2.0 steals per game.
