DeKALB, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University football program had game times and broadcast information released for its first season in the Mountain West Conference, the league announced today. The Huskies home opener against Illinois State is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12 at 6 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on MW+.
In Week One, NIU travels to Iowa for a 3:15 p.m. CT kick on Big Ten Network on Saturday, Sept. 5. When the Huskies head out west for a non-conference road game against Arizona, NIU and the Wildcats will be on TNT/HBO Max for a 9:30 p.m. CT game on Saturday, Sept. 19.
NIU will play its first-ever Mountain West game at home in Huskie Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 6:30 p.m. CT against Air Force on CBS Sports Network. Additionally, the game against the Falcons will be the 119th NIU Homecoming.
The next week, the Huskies visit Wyoming for a 3:30 p.m. CT game on The CW. NIU will be in action on Halloween night, playing at UNLV on Saturday, Oct. 31 on CBS Sports Network at 9:30 p.m. CT.
The Huskies are back on The CW when they head to North Dakota State on Saturday, Nov. 21 for a 3 p.m. kickoff.
NIU will be on MW+ for remaining conference games against Hawai'i (Saturday, Oct. 24), San José State (Saturday, Nov. 7), Nevada (Saturday, Nov. 14) and UTEP (Saturday, Nov. 28). Kickoff times will be announced at a later date.
The 2026 Mountain West Football Championship Game is scheduled for Friday, December 4, on FOX at 8 p.m. CT.
