DeKALB, Ill. – DeAree Rogers of the Northern Illinois University football team is the Huskies nominee for the 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, the organization announced today.
Since arriving in DeKalb, Rogers has jumped into giving back to the community and is one of the first to offer his time for community service. The redshirt senior is originally from Lexington, S.C. and often volunteers his time away from the field working with the youth of the DeKalb and Sycamore areas, serving in clinics, partaking in Habitat for Humanity opportunities and more.
On the field last season, Rogers led the Huskies in receiving with 506 yards, 46 receptions and three touchdowns. Off the field, the wide receiver ranked among the leaders for NIU in both community service hours and community activities. Some of Rogers' off-field highlights include working with Habitat for Humanity to help build local homes, volunteering his time at local youth camps and elementary schools and participating in NIU Football's Women's Clinic.
Rogers is one of 175 nominees named today (July 20) for the 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, recognizing student-athletes and head coaches from every level of college football who are making an impact through community service, academic achievement and leadership.
The 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team will be announced in September, including 22 student-athletes and one head coach. One student-athlete will be selected as team captain and receive the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy.
