DeKALB, Ill. – Northern Illinois University wide receiver
DeAree Rogers has been named to the 2026 Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Watch List, the organization announced today. Rogers is one of 113 nominees for the award, honoring student-athletes who lead through community service while excelling in the classroom and on the field.
Rogers is among the leaders at NIU in community hours served and community activity participation, often spending his time away from the field volunteering at local youth camps and elementary schools, working with Habitat for Humanity, participating in clinics and more. Originally from Lexington, S.C. and in his second season with the Huskies, Rogers is often the first to offer his time when it comes to community service.
The wideout is one of seven members of the Mountain West named to the watch list. Rogers' leadership for the Huskies goes beyond the field, leading by example in the locker room as well as in the community.
For the third consecutive year, the Wuerffel Foundation is partnering with Allstate and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) to unite college football's top community service honors with the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®. In September, 11 student-athletes from the Watch List will be named to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team and become semifinalists for the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy.
The Allstate Wuerffel Trophy finalists will be selected by the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy National Selection Committee, with input from a fan vote. The 2026 recipient will be announced live on The Home Depot College Football Awards show on December 11, and also serve as captain of the 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team.
Single game tickets are now on sale, starting at just $35 for east side general admission tickets while west side general admission seats are $40. Season tickets for all five home games of NIU's first season in the Mountain West start at just $102. Tickets are available online at NIUHuskies.com/tickets or by calling 815-753-PACK (7225).
