INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Amelie Ojeda (Lombard, Ill./Willowbrook) of the Northern Illinois University women's cross country team was named the Under Armour Horizon League Runner of the Week, announced by the league office on Tuesday (Sept. 22). Ojeda earned a fifth place finish last Friday (Sept. 18) at Illinois State's Redbird Invite.

NIU's top runner in each of the first two meets of the season, Ojeda ran a time of 21:35.6 over the six-kilometer course at the Weibring Golf Club to earn her second top-five finish of the season. Ojeda's time was less than 10 seconds behind her collegiate-best 6K of 21:25.4, set last season at the Bradley Pink Classic.

The Huskies had four runners finish in the top-15 at the Redbird Invite as they claimed a third-place team finish, less than 20 points behind second-place Iowa.

Ojeda and the Huskies will return to action on Friday, Oct. 2, when they take part in the Joe Piane Invite, hosted by Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind.
