2015 SEASON (JUNIOR):
•Appeared in 52 games, starting 47 at catcher
•Finished the season with a .256 batting average on 176 at-bats
•Converted 45 hits and scored 33 runs, including four versus Eastern Michigan (Apr. 26)
•Led the team in homeruns for the season, driving four
•Helped bring in 24 RBI including five in the Apr. 14 contest at UIC
•MAC West Player of the Week (4/27) for the first time in his career after hitting a homerun in both games of the doubleheader against Eastern Michigan, we well as scoring seven runs and recording a .467 batting average
2014 SEASON (SOPHOMORE):
• Made 36 appearances with 28 starts behind the plate
• Recorded a batting average of .155 with an on-base percentage of .297
• Reached base nine times on hit by pitch, a team-high
• Went 2-for-3 at the plate against No. 11 Cal Poly with one hit by pitch (March 12)
• Scored two runs with an RBI, two hits, two runs and a double in MAC opener versus Buffalo (March 21); finished series with .539 OBP (13 plate appearances)
• Caught 12 runners stealing base behind the plate
• Only one error for a .995 fielding percentage
2013 SEASON (FRESHMAN):
• Played in 11 games, starting one at catcher
• Secured his first hit in his first collegiate at-bat at Texas Tech (Feb. 17)
• Singled in his first start of the season versus Bradley (April 16)
• Walked, doubled, and scored at Bradley (April 30)
OAK FOREST HIGH SCHOOL:
• Two year baseball letterman at Oak Forest High School
• A two-time first team all-conference selection
• Played in the Plainfield Showcase All Star game after junior season
• Team finished 27-8 in 2011, en route to state runner-up, super sectional, sectional, regional and conference championships
• Set the IHSA 3A State Record for hits in a state championship game (three)
• Won regional and conference championships as a sophomore
• Will serve as a team captain senior year
• Played for Oak Forest Storm travel team over the summer
PERSONAL/MISCELLANEOUS:
• Son of Matthew and Nancy Zubek
• Plans to major in pre-law and minor in business
• Would like to pursue a career in law or in the front office of a sports team
• Member of the National Honor Society
• Also involved with the Interact Club and a Special Olympics volunteer
• Earned honors with distinction the last three years
• Enjoys watching hockey and going to sporting events
• Looks up to A.J. Pierzynski because he always plays hard, smart, the right way and he's a leader
• Also admires Derek Jeter because he's a role model on and off the field
• Scored a 33-of-36 on ACT
