Prep: Earned four varsity letters in track and field... recognized by the Northern Illinois Conference as a 1st team selection as a sophomore for her efforts in the 200m... earned all state honors the same season after finishing fourth in the 800m medley relay... captured All-American status by medaling in the 800m sprint medley at the 2005 Nike outdoor Nationals... Walters was named co-captain of the squad her junior year, again earning 1st team all-conference and improving to 2nd place and all state in the 800m medley relay... she helped lead the Indians to an 8th place finish at the IHSA outdoor championships... As a senior Walters retained the role of captain, leading her team to indoor and outdoor conference championships for the fourth straight year... she was named to her third all-conference team, this one for the 4x100 meter relay... Walter left Hononegah with the school record in the 55m dash (7.24) and still holds the record for the 4x100 relay (49.0) and 800m sprint relay (1:45.61). Personal: Daughter of Teresa and William Walters, born on December 26, 1988. Major: Biology and French. Minor: Chemistry and Nutrition. Graduated as an AP scholar with distinction, 4-time Academic All-Conference, Illinois State Scholar and Outstanding French Student Award.
