Had the most major decision wins of his career this season with two... At the MAC Championships, won the seventh-place match 8-5 over Austin Macias of SIUE... Took home Academic All-MAC accolades for the second time.
2021: Qualified for the 2021 NCAA National Tournament...Finished the campaign with an overall record of 10-7, 7 in dual matches...Placed fifth in the 2021 MAC Championships, after winning three out of his five matches in the tournament...Posted a five-match winning streak from Jan.17-Jan.30... Earned National Wrestling Coaches Association Division I Scholar All-America honors while also earning Academic All-MAC accolades as well.
2019-20: Recorded a career best 23-11 overall record and an 8-2 in the MAC competing at 125…Placed seventh at the 2020 MAC Wrestling Championships…Of his 23 victories, 10 have come via fall, with his fastest win coming in 36 seconds over Air Force’s Graham Shore at Midlands (Dec. 29)…Finished in fifth place at the Michigan State Open (Nov. 2), defeating Malik Heinselman of Ohio State by fall…Closed the regular season on a five-match winning streak.
2018-19: Qualified for the 2019 NCAA Championships at 125 pounds, finishing the season with a 16-15 record, including a 9-8 mark in dual matches…Finished 1-2 at the tournament with a 10-7 win over Bloomsburg’s Willie Girard…Recorded five fall wins on the year, defeating Lane Wells (Harper), Austin Macias (SIUE), William Jacobs (The Citadel), Shakur Laney (Ohio), Kyle Akins (Buffalo)…Placed third at MAC Championships.
2017-18: Wrestled to a 15-9 record, unattached, at 125-pounds … Suited up for six open tournaments… Registered the quickest pin by any Huskie this season when he pinned Jakob Allison of Iowa State at the Harold Nichols Cyclone Open in 24 seconds (Nov. 4) … Went 2-0 en route to a first-place finish at the Harold Nichols Cyclone Open (Nov. 4) … Registered two tech falls, a pin, and a decision to win the Pat ‘Flash’ Flanagan Open (Jan. 6) … Pinned seven opponents … Placed third at the Jim Koch Open (Dec. 2) and at the Harper Open (Jan. 27), while placing fourth at the Eastern Michigan Open (Nov. 11) … Competed as an unattached competor at the Midlands Championships (Dec. 29) and had his hand raised once defeating Matteo DeVincenzo of Princeton, 9-5.
High School: Honored as a four-time varsity letter winner… Won the Iowa State Tournament from sophomore to senior year at 120 pounds, posting a 17-1 record… Finished his high school career at 210-3 including holding school records for most pins, most wins, and the fastest pin…Received All-Conference and All-Area first team honors all four years… Helped team to four straight Conference and Sectional Championships… Achieved Gold Honor Roll from Fall of 2013 to Spring of 2017.
