All-Americans
The Huskies tradition as a program goes back to 1900 and 105 seasons when it was the Northern Illinois State Normal School.
In the past 53 seasons, the Huskies have had 16 baseball players earn All-America honors. Six (6) of those players have been coached or recruited by Head Coach Ed Mathey. Former Huskie turned Seattle Mariner prospect Jeff Zimmerman (2011-13) was NIU's last All-American as he was a consensus Freshman All-American in 2011 after leading the Huskies in home runs (11) and RBI (47).
