| Nicole Gremillion is NIU's all-time leader in Career Runs Scored with 153 and is second on the school's all-time list in hits with 232. She also ranks second and fifth on NIU's single season list for runs scored with 47 in 2012 and 41 in 2013.

Huskie History
The Northern Illinois University softball program has a proud tradition of success in the Mid-American Conference and nationally in its 56-year history.
Dr. Mary M. Bell, the Mother of NIU Athletics, was the program's first head coach, leading the program through its first 16 years never having had a losing season. After short stints from Dr. L. Anne Payne and Anne Johnston, Dee Abrahamson took over the head coaching duties in 1980. NIU's all-time leader in wins as head softball coach, Abrahamson amassed 416 wins and a .592 winning percentage. In 1988, she led the Huskies to the Women's College World Series. Former Huskie standout Donna Martin took over the reigns of the program in 1995, winning 350 games in a 13-year span. Martin and Abrahamson have combined for 75 percent of NIU's softball victories and all six conference championships in the program's 55-year history.
The 1988 World Series team was led by three-time All-American Jill Justin who hit for a .484 average and led the team in hits, doubles, homeruns, runs and RBI. NIU went on a school-record 16-game winning streak climbing as high as 10th in the national rankings in the middle of that season. The Huskies eliminated Bowling Green and Illinois State in the Midwest Regional Tournament before dropping games to UCLA and Texas A&M in the NCAA Championship.
