The Northern Illinois University football team will be holding 15 practices this spring, many of them bright and early in the morning, and NIUHuskies.com is your source for all the happenings of practice.
Coming off an appearance in the 2017 Quick Lane Bowl, NIU enters spring ball with its starting offensive line from last season in tact, dynamic All-America defensive end Sutton Smith and 17 returning starters, nine on offense, six on defense and two specialists. The Huskies open the 2018 season Sat., Sept. 1 when NIU travels to Iowa to face the Hawkeyes. NIU will face one of the most challenging non-conference schedules in FBS in 2018. The Huskies will play host to Utah (Sept. 8), the first Pac-12 team to visit Huskie Stadium, travel to Tallahassee, Fla. to take on Florida State (Sept. 22) and head west to Utah for a date with BYU (Oct. 27).
