- Pitched 1.2 innings of scoreless relief at #23 Kentucky on March 11, allowing one hit and two walks with two strikeouts
- Made his first career start against Eastern Illinois on April 8
- Struck out six batters in three innings of relief at Ball State on April 11
- Earned his first career win on April 27 against Western Michigan, allowing one run in five innings on four hits with six strikeouts
- Had a season-high nine strikeouts in six innings in NIU’s 17-1 win at Eastern Michigan on May 3, allowing one run on three hits
- Recorded his first career save with a perfect ninth inning that included two strikeouts in NIU’s 4-2 win over Toledo on May 9; two days later, Cox allowed two runs on five hits with six strikeouts in six innings
- Had eight strikeouts in five innings at Bowling Green on May 17
