Biography

2021:
- Rawlings/ABCA All-Midwest First Team
- All-MAC Second Team
- Academic All-MAC

- Started all 54 games at four different positions
- Had a team-high 10 home runs
- Led the MAC with 71 hits, was tied for fourth with a .355 batting average
- Had a hit in 24 of the first 26 games of the year
- Went 3-for-4 with a double, a two-run home run,  and two runs scored at Evansville on Feb. 27
- Drove in three runs at UTRGV on March 7 in game one of the doubleheader
- Went 2-for-3 with a two-run single in NIU’s 3-0 win in game two of the doubleheader at Kent State on March 20
- Had two hits and two RBI in back-to-back games against Central Michigan (April 4) and Bellarmine (April 9); hit two home runs against Bellarmine
- Capped a 15-game hitting streak against Ohio in the first game of an April 17 doubleheader
- Tied a career-high with four hits at Ball State on April 24, scoring twice
- Scored the winning run in NIU’s 7-6 walk-off win over Akron on April 30
- Went 3-for-4 with four RBI in an 11-2 win over Akron on May 1
- Had a three-hit game four times in the last 12 games of the season

2020:
- Started all 15 games he played
- Went 3-for-4 with a triple, a home run, four RBI, three runs scored, and a stolen base
- Was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI at Southeast Missouri on Feb. 23
- Had a two-RBI double in the Huskies’ 6-4 win over Chicago State on March 1
- Was 2-for-4 at Missouri on March 10

2019:
- Academic All-MAC
- Started all 52 games played, with 31 starts as designated hitter
- Third on the team with a .282 batting average with three home runs and 30 RBI
- Was 3-for-5 in back-to-back wins at Middle Tennessee (Feb. 21) and Belmont (Feb. 23)
- Had four hits and scored three runs in NIU’s 17-2 win at Southern Illinois on March 9
- Hit a two-run home run in the Huskies’ 7-6 win over Ohio on April 5
- Drove in a season-high five runs in the 17-11 win over Kent State on April 19, going 4-for-6 at the plate with a three-run home run
- Hit a go-ahead three-run home run to lift NIU past Bowling Green 7-5 on May 17
- Had a hit in all four of NIU’s MAC Tournament games

2018:
- Played in 50 games, starting 47 of them
- Led NIU with 27 RBI
- Was 2-for-3 with four RBI at Southern Illinois on March 10 with a two-run home run
- Had three hits and three RBI against Robert Morris Chicago on April 25 with another two-run home run
- Was 2-for-4 with three RBI in NIU’s 12-4 win over Toledo on May 6
- Drove in four runs in NIU’s 12-4 win at Bowling Green on May 13; Was 7-for-13 in the series against the Falcons

2017:
- Redshirted.

COLONIAL BEACH/THE STEWARD SCHOOL:
- First Team All-Virginia as a shortstop in 2015.
- Named to the all-conference first three-straight seasons.
- Hit .380 as a junior, slugging .577 with two triples and home runs.
- Has posted a perfect 19-for-19 stolen bases mark.
- Hit .469 his freshman season.
- Won District Championship with basketball team at Colonial Beach.
- Two-sport athlete - baseball and basketball; holds Steward School record for charges taken in a game (6).
- Won the baseball Leadership Award winner at Colonial Beach.
- Transferred to The Steward School for senior year.

PERSONAL/MISCELLANEOUS:
- Son of Joseph Jones Jr. and Jean Smith-Turner.
- Plans on becoming a college coach after graduation, leading the team to the College World Series.
- Three-year National Honor Society member.
