Former Huskie running back Cameron Stingily will begin his second season at NIU as a graduate assistant coach. In 2017, he worked with the defensive coaching staff and the NIU safeties. In 2018, he will work with the defensive line.

Stingily was a three-year letterwinner for the Huskies (2010-14) who gained 2,095 yards in 35 games with 23 rushing touchdowns. After moving from linebacker to running back, he gained 1,119 yards as a junior in 2013 and 971 in his senior season. The Romeoville, Ill. native earned second team All-MAC honors in 2014, when he scored 12 rushing touchdowns with four 100-yard games. 

Stingily’s top performance at NIU came in 2013 versus Kent State when he ran for 266 yards on 37 carries to record the most yards by a Huskie running back since 2006. 

Following his NIU career, Stingily was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Pittsburgh Steelers in both 2015 and 2016.

He earned his undergraduate degree in sociology from NIU and is pursuing a master’s in sports management.    Â
