Saw action in 50 games for the Huskies. Was a regular contributor on special teams throughout his career and played a key role on the NIU defense his last two seasons. Finished with 92 career stops, 62 solo, nine pass break-ups and three interceptions.
2013: Played in all 14 games, and was a starter in the Huskies' nickel package on defense. Had at least one tackle in every game on the year. Named to the Academic All-MAC squad. Made a career-high 41 tackles, including 29 solo stops. Set career highs for pass break-ups with four and interceptions with two. Recorded four tackles, all solo, at Idaho (9-14). Registered a season-high six tackles against Eastern Illinois (9-21). Made his first interception of the season at Purdue (9-28) to stop a Boilermaker drive and broke up a pass. Broke up a pass and made two stops against Akron (10-12). Credited with three stops and broke up a pass versus Eastern Michigan (10-26). Tied his season-high with six tackles and intercepted a pass at UMass (11-2). Tallied five stops and broke up a pass at Ball State (11-13). Also made a heads up play to recover a "surprise" onside kick attempt to earn NIU Scout Team Player of the Week honors. Registered four tackles and recovered a fumble in the MAC Championship game (12-6).
2012: Redshirt junior appeared in all 14 games and made one start at free safety. Accounted for a career-high 29 tackles and one tackle for loss. Recorded a season-high eight tackles in his start against UMass (11-3) with a pass break up and a tackle for loss. Twenty of his 29 tackles during the season were solo stops. Recorded at least one tackle in 11 of the 14 games he played, including seven multi-tackle games. Made four tackles and broke up a pass at Western Michigan (10-27). Also tallied four stops against Buffalo (10-13).
2011: Played in every game on several Huskie special teams and as a reserve defensive back. Finished the year with 19 tackles, 11 solo, and two fumble recoveries. Posted a career-high five tackles against Army (9-3) in his first career start. Made three tackles each against Kansas (9-10), Wisconsin (9-17) and Western Michigan (10-15). Recovered a muffed punt at Buffalo (10-22). Also recovered an Arkansas State (1-8) fumble, leading to the third Huskie touchdown of the game. Recorded at least one tackle in eight of the first nine games of the year.
2010: Played in eight games for NIU as a reserve cornerback. Also a member of the Huskies[apos] special teams units. Picked off a pass in his collegiate debut at Akron (10-2) and returned it 11 yards. Made his first career tackle versus Buffalo (10-16) and finished the season with three tackles, including two solo stops, and one for loss. Played in seven of the Huskies[apos] last eight games of the year and made a season-best two tackles, with a two-yard tackle for loss, at Eastern Michigan (11-26).
2009: Redshirted
High School: Earned three varsity letters and was a two-time captain and two-time defensive MVP for the Tigers. Named to the Southwest Prairie All-Conference first team, all-area first team and the IHSA Academic All-State team his senior year. Recorded 35 tackles, three interceptions, three tackles for loss and blocked three kicks in his senior season. Posted a perfect grade point average as a junior.
