Biography

Career
• Ranks in the Top 10 of every NIU career passing list, including yards (7th), attempts (6th), completions (6th), completion percentage (5th) and touchdown passes (7th).
• Was 15-8 as a starter, including 9-3 with a MAC Championship in 2014.
• One of six Huskies all-time with 6,000 or more yards of total offense including 1,201 rushing and was responsible for 48 career touchdowns.

2016
• Started the first two games of the season as quarterback before a season ending injury at South Florida (9-10)
• In the season-opener at Wyoming (9-3), completed 24-of-39 passes for 329 yards and three touchdowns for the fourth 300-yard passing game of his career.
• Also scored his 11th career rushing touchdown in the triple overtime loss to the Cowboys.
• Completed 13 of 20 passes for 96 yards at South Florida before going down with an injury midway through the third quarter.
• Finished the year with 425 passing yards on 62.7 completion percentage, three passing and one rushing score.

2015
• Started the first nine games for NIU.
• Suffered a season-ending Achilles tear at Toledo (11-3) in the second quarter.
• Was one of the most efficient QBs in the MAC prior to his injury, completing 63.8 percent of his pass attempts with 14 touchdowns and just four interceptions.
• Tallied 1,962 passing yards for an average of 218.0 yards per game.
• Still finished as NIU’s third-leading rusher with 252 toal yards.
• Started the season on fire, passing for 360 yards and two scores against UNLV (9-5) and 358 yards with four TDs versus Murray State (9-12) while completing 50-of-64 pass attempts.
• First NIU quarterback with consecutive 300-yard passing games since 1969.
• Tied his career high with four passing touchdowns against Eastern Michigan (10-24), finishing with 267 yards on 24-of-38 passing.
• Posted career highs in completions (29), passing yards (363) and passing completion percentage (90.6) against Ball State (10-10), earning weekly nods from the Manning and O’Brien Awards.
• His 29-of-32 game passing against the Cardinals also gave Hare the best single-game completion percentage (90.6) in NIU football history for a game with a minimum of 20 completions.
• Also scored his only rushing TD of the year versus Ball State (10-10).
• Named MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week following the Ball State and Eastern Michigan games and selected MAC Male Scholar Athlete of the Week for his performance against UNLV.
• Tossed a season-long 67-yard completion to Tommylee Lewis at Toledo (11-3) before his injury for NIU’s first touchdown of the game.
• Rushed for a season-high 65 yards at Central Michigan (10-3) on a career-high 27 attempts.
• NIU went 6-0 in games which Hare completed greater than 50 percent of his pass attempts.
• Academic All-MAC selection for the second time while also earning MAC Distinguished Scholar Athlete recognition.

2014
• Solidified the NIU starting quarterback role, starting the final 12 games.
• Appeared in all 14 games, finishing with 2,322 passing yards for 18 touchdowns.
• Led NIU to a fifth-straight 11-win season.
• Completed 59.4 percent of his passes.
• Earned the role as starting QB role after entering the Northwestern (9-6) contest in the second half and leading the Huskies to three touchdown drives in a 23-15 win.
• Led the Huskies to a MAC Championship win against Bowling Green (12-5), setting career highs in completions (29) and attempts (49) while throwing for two scores in the 51-17 triumph.
• Threw just two interceptions in 326 attempts and took just 12 sacks.
• Also a threat with his legs, rushing for 900 yards and eight scores.
• Rushed for a career-high 180 yards and two scores vs. Miami (10-18).
• Broke a career-long 78-yard run and had another 100-yard rushing game the following week at Eastern Michigan (10-25).
• Ran for two touchdowns in the fourth quarter at Western Michigan (11-28), helping NIU clinch the MAC West for the fifth consecutive time.
• Accounted for at least one touchdown in 13 different games.
• Selected as MAC Male Scholar Athlete of the Week after his performance at Northwestern and also following the MAC Championship Game win over Bowling Green.
• Named MAC West Offensive Player of the Week after setting passing career highs with 285 yards and three three touchdowns in the victory at UNLV (9-13).
• Phil Steele third team All-MAC and Academic All-MAC Team choice.

2013

• Appeared in three games as the Huskies' third-string quarterback.
• Finished the year five-of-nine passing for 153 yards and two touchdowns.
• Rushed five times for 68 yards and a touchdown.
• Completed his first touchdown pass versus Eastern Michigan (10-26) to Ricky Connors from 11 yards out.
• Went three-for-five for 55 yards and a touchdown in the game.
• Played in his first career game versus Purdue (9-28).
• Completed two-of-four passes for 98 yards at Massachusetts (11-2)
• Threw the team's longest touchdown pass of the season with an 81-yard completion to Chad Beebe at UMass.

2012

• Named to the Missouri Sports Writers Association All-State and St. Louis Post-Dispatch All-Metro teams after accounting for 3,317 yards of total offense (2,677 passing, 640 rushing) and scoring 31 touchdowns in 2011.
• Earned Gateway Athletic Conference South Division Player of the Year and first team all-conference honors as a senior.
• Completed 72.3 percent of his passes (198-of-274) in 2011 with 26 touchdown passes and eight interceptions.
• Named to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Super 30 list of 2012 recruits as the No. 13 prospect.
• Named second team All-Metro by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch in 2010.
• Completed 65 percent of his passes (274-of-421) for 3,201 yards with 24 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, and rushed for 1,071 yards and 12 scores as a junior.
• One of 10 2011 Super Juniors by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
• Holds the Missouri state record for career completion percentage (68 percent).
