Biography

Totaled 727 career all-purpose yards, including 409 receiving yards on 38 catches for a 10.8 yards per catch average. Amassed 91 yards on six kickoff returns and 208 yards on 22 punt returns.

2008: Ranked seventh on the team with 11 catches (for 113 yards) to average 10.3 yards per catch while playing in all 13 games as a receiver and on special teams. Scored one touchdown, on a 16-yard reception at Western Michigan. Also returned four punts for 20 yards on the year. Totaled a season-high 46 receiving yards on two catches versus Central Michigan, including a season-long 25-yarder. Compiled 24 receiving yards on a season-high five receptions at Eastern Michigan with a long of 11. Caught two passes for 15 yads and returned a punt for four yards in the bowl game versus Louisiana Tech. Also returned punts against Indiana State (Sept. 20), Kent State (Nov. 18) and Navy (Nov. 25) with a long return of 15 yards versus ISU. Had a 12-yard catch in the Navy game. Saw action on special teams and contributed a pair of tackles in that role.

2007: Appeared in 10 games with four starts at wide receiver. Ranked fourth on the team with 21 catches and 222 receiving yards for a 10.6 average. Also appeared on special teams as a kick returner. Totaled 357 all-purpose yards, the fifth-most on the squad as he returned three kickoffs for 50 yards and eight punts for 66 yards to average 16.6 and 8.2 yards per return, respectively. Caught three passes for 49 yards, including a 40-yard reception vs. Iowa (9-1). Had three punt returns, including one for 11 yards, in that game. Made three grabs for 42 yards and had a season-long 19-yard punt return vs. Southern Illinois (9-8). Totaled four receptions for 24 yards and had one rush for eight yards at Central Michigan (9-29). Recoevered a pair of kickoff returns for 45 yards in that game. Caught three passes for 19 yards vs. Ball State (11-25). Made a 15-yard and an eight-yard reception vs. Eastern Michigan (9-15). Credited with two receptions for 27 yards and one punt return for 10 yards at Idaho (9-22). Caught two passes for 16 yards at Wisconsin (10-20).

2006: Saw action in 12 contests, including bowl game. Team[apos]s leading punt returner with 10 for 122 yards, including long of 24 yards, and had two kickoff returns for 36 yards, including a 32-yarder. Caught five passes for 59 yards (11.8 avg.) and one touchdown. Returned three punts for 11 yards against Buffalo (9-16). Had 19-yard punt return vs. Indiana State (9-23). Recovered muffed punt and returned two punts for 19 yards at Miami (10-8). Blocked punt that was recovered for touchdown and had a 20-yard punt return at Western Michigan (10-14). Had career day with three receptions for 41 yards, including 23-yard touchdown catch, and 32-yard kickoff return vs. Temple (10-21). Caught one pass for 11 yards at Iowa (10-28). Amassed 44 punt return yards on two attempts against Toledo (11-7). Had a nine-yard punt return and a seven-yard reception vs. Central Michigan (11-17). Saw time before leaving game with injury vs. TCU in Poinsettia Bowl (12-19).


2005: Played 11 games as offensive reserve and on special teams. Caught one pass for 15 yards. Saw first collegiate action with 10 plays at Michigan (9-3). Made first collegiate reception against Tennessee Tech (9-17). Played season-high nine special teams plays at Central Michigan (11-5).

High School: Two-year consensus all-stater selection, two-time state Player of the Year, and three-time Class 4A state champion. Named team captain, first team All-Suburban Catholic Conference and league Player of the Year, first team Daily Herald DuPage All-Area, second-team Chicago Tribune All-State, first team Illinois High School Football Coaches Association Class 4A All-State, first team Champaign News-Gazette All-State, plus first team Chicago Sun-Times All-Area, first team Small Schools All-State, and Small Schools (Class 1A-4A) State Player of the Year. Played running back, wideout, free safety, and kick returner on 14-0 conference and Class 4A state champion as a senior. Set school record by scoring 37 touchdowns while totaling 47 receptions for 1,100 yards as receiver and adding 60 tackles, 15 pass deflections, and 10 interceptions as free safety during final prep campaign. Tabbed first team All-SCC, first team Daily Herald DuPage All-Area, special mention Champaign News-Gazette All-State, first team IHSFCA All-State, plus special mention Chicago Sun-Times All-Area, first team Small Schools All-State, and Small Schools State Player of the Year as junior. Caught 43 passes for 1,000 yards and 15 TDs to help team to state championship during junior year. Totaled 35 catches for 535 yards and 13 TDs on state titlist as sophomore. Had 125 career receptions for 2,635 yards and 56 touchdowns. Three-time football letterwinner and earned four letters in basketball. Three-time Suburban Catholic Conference Basketball Player of the Year.
