Biography

2011: The Huskies' starting tight end played in all 14 games during the year... Caught his only pass of the season for a 13-yard gain against Western Michigan (10-15)... Key part of the blocking unit that powered NIU to 476 yards of total offense per game to rank 11th in the nation... Helped lead the way for Chandler Harnish and Jasmin Hopkins to rush for 2,335 yards... Earned NIU Offensive Lineman of the Week recognition following the Kansas (9-10) and Ball State (11-15) games... The Huskies gained 710 yards, second-most in school history, versus the Cardinals.

2010: Spent most of the season as the Huskies[apos] second-team tight end and started the Akron (10-2) and Buffalo (10-16) games in a two-tight end set. Solid blocker saw action in every contest on the year. Totaled eight catches for 75 yards on the season to tie Jason Schepler among NIU tight ends. Caught a career-high five passes for 55 yards at Illinois (9-18) to earn NIU Offensive Lineman of the Week honors. Had a career-long 22-yard catch and run in the fourth quarter. Collected his first reception of the season for a four-yard gain in the season opener at Iowa State (9-2). Helped lead the NIU offense to a game-high 520 offensive yards at Akron (10-2). Had one reception against both Western Michigan (10-30) and Toledo (11-9) with the Toledo play going for 12 yards.

2009: Appeared in eight games at tight end. Caught his first career pass, five yards, against Western Illinois (9-12). Also saw action as a blocking tight end in games against Wisconsin (9-5), Purdue (9-19), Western Michigan (10-3), Toledo (10-17), Eastern Michigan (11-50, Ball State (11-12), and South Florida (1-3).

2008: Did not play in any games.

2007: Redshirted.

High School: Played wide receiver and defensive back, earning two football letters from Marist. Team captain as a senior. Earned first team all-conference accolades in both his junior and senior seasons. Totaled 65 catches for 1,131 yards and five touchdowns in his career. Made 33 tackles and forced two fumbles as a defensive back during his senior season. Earned first team all-East Suburban Catholic Conference honors in basketball as a senior. Helped his basketball team to the IHSA Regional title, and participated in the 2007 ESCC All-Star Game.

Personal: Born April 14, 1989. Son of Mary and Michael Marks. Father captained Purdue football team in 1980. Uncle Rich Marks (1971-74) is a member of the NIU All-Century Team. Uncle John Marks played for the Huskies in 1976. Corporate communications major who enjoys fishing and golf.
