Biography

Career
• Played in 50 games with 30 starts between 2020-24.
• Began his career as a cornerback before moving to safety and then into a hybrid defensive back/linebacker position. 
• Totaled 117 tackles, 74 solo, with five tackles for losses of 22 yards.
• Broke up 14 passes, forced a fumble and tallied a pair of quarterback sacks. 
• Made the first and only interception of his career as a senior. 

2024
• Finished his senior season with a career high 42 tackles, 31 solo, with two tackles for loss and four pass break-ups.
• His 31 solo stops were tied for the team lead.  
• Stalwart on Huskie defense that ranked fourth in the country in total defense and in the Top 10 in five defensive categories. 
• Made his first career interception at Miami (11-19), returning it 19 yards, and broke up a pass in the game. 
• Tied his season high with six tackles – all solo stops - and added a pass break up in NIU’s double overtime bowl win versus Fresno State (12-23).
• Made four solo tackles in back-to-back games at Ball State (10-26) and at Western Michigan (11-6) with a pass break up versus WMU.
• Posted five tackles against Toledo (10-19).
• Made a pair of tackles and broke up a pass in win over UMass (10-5).
• Totaled a season-high six tackles against Buffalo (9-21).
• Made three tackles, including one for loss, in NIU’s historic win at No. 5 Notre Dame (9-7).

2023
• Defensive back started all 13 games for the Huskies in 2023. 
• Totaled 33 tackles, 21 solo, with a team-leading eight pass break-ups, a forced fumble and a tackle for loss.
• Recorded at least one tackle in every game with a season-high five stops versus both Ohio (10-14) and Western Michigan (11-14). 
• Added a tackle for loss and broke up a pass in the shutout of WMU.  
• Five of his pass break-ups came in the last three games of the year, including a season-high three in the Huskies’ final game at Kent State (11-25). 
• His five stops in Western Michigan game included a tackle for loss and had a pass breakup.
• Had a pass break-up and a tackle in the bowl win over Arkansas State (12-23). 
• Tallied four tackles in Halloween night matchup at Central Michigan (10-31). 
• Totaled four stops and broke up two passes in win over Eastern Michigan (10-21). 
• Forced a fumble in the Huskies’ matchup at Toledo (9-30).
• Broke up a pass and had a pair of solo tackles versus Southern Illinois (9-9).

2022
•    Played in seven games beginning with the Toledo game (10-8) and started the Miami (11-16) and Akron (11-26) contests.
•    Totaled 16 tackles, eight solo, with two quarterback sacks. 
•    Had two tackles in back-to-back games at Eastern Michigan (10-15) and Ohio (10-22).
•    Made three tackles at Western Michigan (11-9) and his fourth down sack on WMU’s final drive sealed the win for NIU.
•    Registered a season-high four tackles against Miami (11-16).
•    Recorded his second sack of the season, a pass break-up and three tackles against Akron (11-26).
•    Elected to serve as permanent special teams captain during the 2022 season.
•    Played on the kickoff, kickoff return, punt and punt return squads. 
•    Missed the first five games of the season due to injury.  

2021
•    Saw action in all 14 games and made a pair of starts at safety, in the Central Michigan and MAC Championship games. 
•    Played extensively on special teams as a member of nearly every unit, including kickoff coverage, kickoff return, punt return and punt squads. 
•    Recorded 27 tackles, 14 solo and 13 assists with a pass break up. 
•    Tallied a career high nine tackles vs. Western Michigan (11-23) and broke up a pass.  
•    Made five tackles, including three solo stops, at Central Michigan (10-23).
•    Credited with at least one tackle in 11 of the Huskies’ 14 games. 

HIGH SCHOOL
• Team captain for the Tigers his senior season.
• Invited to play in the Broward County All-Star Game.
• Earned Player of the Week honors multiple times during his junior and senior seasons.
• As a senior, intercepted three passes and broke up nine.
• Added a forced fumble and returned two kickoffs for 42 yards in 2019.
• Blanche Ely posted a 7-3 record and finished as conference runners up in 2019.
• Broke up 10 passes and intercepted three his junior year with two fumbles forced and two recovered.
• Named to the 2018-19 A/B Honor Roll.
