Biography

2011: Played in all 14 games at defensive end... Started the Kent State (10-8), Western Michigan (10-15) and Arkansas State (1-8) games... Recorded a career-high 29 tackles on the year... Made 4.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, two pass breakups and recovered a fumble... Tallied one tackle or more in 12 games... Capped off his career with a career-high seven tackles in the GoDaddy.com Bowl win over Arkansas State (1-8) while starting in place of Sean Progar... Made a tackle for minus five yards on the Red Wolves' second play from scrimmage and combined on a sack to force a third quarter three-and-out... Earned NIU Defensive Lineman of the Week honors following a six-tackle performance at Central Michigan (10-1)... Made three tackles, 1.5 for loss, and a drive-stopping sack versus Kent State (10-8)... Recovered a Golden Flashes fumble and returned it to the KSU seven-yard line to set up an NIU touchdown... Credited with a tackle for loss at Kansas (9-10)... Began the season with four tackles against Army (9-3)... Made two tackles versus Ohio (12-2) in the MAC Championship game... Registered an assisted tackle for loss at Bowling Green (11-8).

2010: Did not see any game action on the offensive line. Moved to tight end and also practiced at offensive line in spring 2010.

2009: Redshirted after suffering a knee injury in preseason drills. Joined the Huskies in January 2009 as a defensive lineman after one season at Harper Junior College.

Junior College: 2008 NJCAA Second Team All-American and Midwest Football Conference Defensive Player of the Year at Harper College. First team all-conference and all-region selection recorded 40 tackles and 19.5 sacks to lead the Hawks to an 11-1 record and to the MFC and Valley of the Sun Bowl championships.

High School: Earned four varsity letters to help lead the Highlanders to four straight state championships. Awarded 4A all-state honors his senior year, compiling 68 tackles and 13 sacks. Named the Chicago Sun-Times Small School Player of the Year as a senior. Earned first team all-conference honors both his junior and senior seasons. As a junior, recorded 65 tackles with 11 sacks, three interceptions and one blocked kick. Made 55 stops with seven sacks and a blocked kick as a sophomore. Holds the school record for most career sacks with 31. Three-sport standout garnered three all-conference awards in basketball, and earned all-area mention in 2004. Also earned all-conference accolades in baseball as a senior.

Personal: Born Aug. 23, 1988. Son of Bob and Liane Jenkins. Huskie Scholar holds a 3.138, majoring in physical education. Aspires to be a physical education teacher and a football coach. Admires the late Reggie White.
