2013: Saw action in four games his senior year after sitting out 2012 with a back injury. Played offensive guard in back-up role at Purdue (9-28), versus Eastern Michigan (10-26), and at UMass (11-2). Entered the Senior Day (Western Michigan) game late.
2012: Redshirted while battling injuries.
2011: Saw action against Army (9-3), Kansas (9-10), Wisconsin (9-17), Cal Poly (9-24), Kent State (10-8), Western Michigan (10-15), Bowling Green (11-8), Ohio (12-2) and Arkansas State (1-8) as a back-up guard. Also got playing time on the Huskies[apos] FG/PAT unit.
2010: Saw action at offensive guard versus Central Michigan (10-23), Toledo (11-9) and Eastern Michigan (11-26). Also got into several of those games as a back-up on the PAT/Field Goal unit.
Junior College: Earned a varsity letter playing offensive line for Harper College in 2009. The Hawks averaged 253.1 yards of total offense a game with 88.4 yards rushing and 164.7 yards passing.
High School: Three-year letterwinner at Marist High School. Helped lead the Red Hawks to a 9-3 record and the Illinois 8A quarterfinals his senior year. Served as team captain as a senior. Named the team[apos]s offensive lineman of the year his final year. Earned all-conference and all-area honors in 2008.
Personal: Born February 20, 1991 in Chicago, Ill. Son of Bernadette and Frank Battaglia. History major.
