Broke up five passes and intercepted one, the third of his career. Had three stops in the season opener at Iowa (8-31). Recorded four tackles at Idaho (9-14). Made a season-high five tackles, four solo, versus Eastern Illinois (9-21). Broke up a pass and made three stops at Kent State (10-5). Intercepted a pass, recovered a fumble, and made four tackles against Central Michigan (10-19). Tied his season-high with five tackles, all solos, and broke up a pass against Eastern Michigan (10-26). Registered four tackles in NIU[apos]s win over Ball State (11-13). Recorded a single tackle in the Poinsettia Bowl versus Utah State (12-26).
2012: Saw action in 10 games for the Huskies, including one start at Army (9-15). Tallied 23 tackles, 16 solo stops. Recorded a season-high eight tackles at Western Michigan (10-27). Made three stops, all solo, in the season opener versus Iowa (9-1) and against Central Michigan (9-29). Forced a fumble and made two solo tackles against UT-Martin. Accounted for five stops at Army (9-15). Recovered a fumble against Buffalo (10-13) on the game[apos]s final play to keep the Bulls out of the endzone. Came back from a serious spring injury that sidelined him for months.
2011: Played in every game with 10 starts at cornerback in his first season with NIU. Finished fifth on the team with 70 tackles and his 47 solo stops ranked third on the team. Picked off two passes, the second-highest total on the team. Intercepted a pass to set up an NIU touchdown against Arkansas State (1-8). Added seven solo tackles in the bowl win. Led NIU with a career-high nine tackles, six solo, and recorded his first career interception in the MAC Championship game versus Ohio (12-2). Contributed eight tackles versus Eastern Michigan (11-25). Led the NIU defense with seven tackles and a pass breakup at Bowling Green (11-8). Posted six tackles at Toledo (11-1) with a tackle for loss. Made his first career start at Buffalo (10-22) and finished with six tackles. Tallied eight stops and broke up a pass against Western Michigan (10-15). Recorded seven tackles against Cal Poly (9-24).
Junior College: Played one season at Ellsworth Community College in Iowa. Made 55 tackles, 35 solo, in 15 games for ECC. Broke up 14 passes, intercepted two and blocked a pair of kicks in 2010. Also forced a fumble for the 12-3 Panthers.
High School: Naples Daily News Defensive Player of the Year as a senior at Lely High School in 2009. Earned third team Class 3A All-State honors as selected by Florida sportswriters. First team All-Collier County selection. Three-time all-conference selection and was named all-area following his junior and senior years. Made 34 tackles, intercepted three passes and scored a pair of special teams touchdowns as a senior. Broke up seven passes and recovered two fumbles. Against rival Naples High, intercepted a pass, returned a blocked field goal to set up a score and had a 96-yard kickoff return. Also played basketball and ran track at Lely.
