Biography

2018
• Started 10 games at tight end while appearing in all 14 games in 2018.
• All 11 of his career receptions came in 2018 as he was used exclusively as a blocker in previous seasons.
• Pressed into starting duty when NIU’s top two tight ends went down with injury in spring and preseason, respectively. 
• Tied his career high for catches with three for a career-best 36 yards vs. UAB in the Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl.  
• Top blocker helped power NIU backs to eight 100-yard rushing games on the season and the Huskies to four 400-yard total offense games. 
• Had career-high three receptions for 21 yards against Utah in home opener. 
• Caught an 11-yard touchdown pass at Eastern Michigan in the first overtime to tie the game at 20, forcing a second overtime; it was his first career touchdown.
• Tallied two receptions for 26 yards against Miami, with a career-long 22-yard reception in the second quarter.  
• Recorded one catch in the BYU and Buffalo games. 
• Also plays on multiple special teams units.
• Named to the Academic All-MAC team and selected as a MAC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete. 
2017
• Played in all 13 games with action on special teams and at tight end.
• Used primarily as a blocker in two and three tight end sets, helping NIU rank fourth in the MAC in rushing yards/game.

2016

Played first three games of the season before enduring a season ending leg injury against San Diego State (9-17).

2015

• Appeared in five games.
• Made his collegiate debut against Murray State (9-12) at Huskie Stadium.
• Played in the first three MAC games.
• Also saw time in the Poinsettia Bowl against Boise State (12-23), recording his first career tackle, a solo stop.

2014
• Redshirted.
• Selected as Defensive Scout Team Player of the Week three times throughout the season for his work helping NIU prepare for opponents

High School
• Three-time all-conference and two-time all-area honoree.
• Compiled 137 tackles, 68 solo, in 2012 and 2013.
• Earned first team all-state, all-area and all-conference honors following his senior season while playing offensive line, defensive line and tight end.
• Recorded 78 tackles and four pass breakups in 2013.
• Named the team's Defensive MVP and Lineman of the Year following the 2013 season.
• Tallied 59 tackles, 34 solo, as a junior en route to first team all-conference honors.
• Caught 15 passes for 207 yards as a tight end in 2012.
• Collected all-area and all-conference recognition as a sophomore.
• Three-time state qualifier in wrestling.
