Eddie Fernandez joins the NIU men’s basketball staff this season as the Huskies’ Director of Basketball Operations. Fernandez comes to NIU after spending the 2024-25 season working in basketball operations for the Washington Wizards. 

Prior to his time with the Wizards, Fernandez worked as a graduate assistant for two seasons at his alma mater, UTEP. The Miners won 18 games in 2023-24 and reached the final of the Conference USA Tournament. Fernandez began his time with UTEP as a student manager for four seasons from 2018-22.
