Jordan Henriquez begins his first season as a member of the NIU men’s basketball coaching staff in 2023-24. Henriquez comes to DeKalb following two seasons working in the National Basketball Association (NBA). 

Henriquez spent the 2022-23 season working with the Houston Rockets in their Basketball Operations department as a Player Development/Video Coaching Associate. He spent the 2021-22 campaign working for the Los Angeles Lakers as a Basketball Operations Coaching Associate. 

Prior to his time in the NBA, Henriquez spent two years as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Kansas State, under Bruce Weber. 

Henriquez was a standout player at Kansas State from 2009-13, Henriquez appeared in 126 career games in his four seasons as a Wildcat as was part of the winningest senior class in school history (101-38) as well as just the second class to play in four consecutive NCAA Tournaments (2010-13). Henriquez was named to the Big 12 All-Defensive Team in 2012 and recorded a school record 210 blocked shots. 

Following his time at Kansas State, the Baldwin, N.Y. native played professionally from 2013-18, beginning with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the NBA D-League, where he was named to the All-Rookie Third Team. 

Henriquez also played professionally in Finland, Germany, Japan, Argentina, Panama, Uruguay, Vietnam and Mexico while also spending the 2017-18 season with the Westchester Knicks in the NBA G League. Henriquez also played in the Summer League with both the Houston Rockets and the New York Knicks. 

He earned his bachelor’s degree in social science with an emphasis in education from Kansas State in 2013.
