Biography
2021-22:
- Academic All-MAC Team
- Played in all 11 events
- NIU’s top finisher in three tournaments
- Finished in the top 40 at the Rich Harvest Farms Intercollegiate (Oct. 2-4) with a 54-hole score of two-over par 218
- Tied for 19th at the Xavier Invitational, carding a one-under par 70 in the final round to finish at seven-over par
- Had his best round of the season in the first round of the Saint Mary’s Invitational (Nov. 9-11) with a two-under 69; was NIU’s top finisher in the event, tying for 34th at +2
- Recorded two rounds under par at the Desert Mountain Collegiate (March 5-6)
- Led NIU with a 15th-place finish at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate ( -1)
Prior to NIU: Transferred to NIU from Butler University where he won the 2021 BIG EAST individual championship in a playoff to qualify for the NCAA Regionals... He is the first Bulldog to win a men’s golf BIG EAST title... Finished in the top-10 in all five events he played in in 2021 and earned All-BIG EAST First Team honors, leading Butler with a scoring average of 72.41...As a junior, Cascino earned First Wave Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America... He was also named BIG EAST Golfer of the Week on Oct. 3, 2019 after winning the Skyhawk Fall Classic in a playoff after posting a two-under par 214 for 54 holes...Cascino had four top-20 finishes that season and was second on the team with a 73.61 scoring average...Was a three-year letterwinner at Providence Catholic High School... The Celtics reached the IHSA State Championship in each of his three varsity seasons...A three-time All-Region selection and twice named All-Section.
