Andrei Andrukhou

Andrei Andrukhou is in his second season as a graduate assistant with the NIU men’s tennis team in 2020-21 and is involved in all coaching and day-to-day aspects of running the Huskie program. 

Andrukhou’s first season at NIU was shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the Huskies playing a fall schedule and just 12 dual matches prior to the cancelation of the remainder of the season. In 2020-21, Andrukhou’s second year in DeKalb, the Huskies posted 21 wins, tied for the second-most wins for the program since the 1988-89 campaign.

NIU won its first 10 matches to start the 2020-21 season and climbed as high as 37th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings. 

A native of Belarus, Andrukhou began his coaching career as a student assistant at Georgia State while he finished his undergraduate degree. He also has experience as the Assistant Manager of Tennis Operations at Total Tennis in Saugerties, N.Y. and at La Grange Country Club in La Grange, Ill. 

As a player, Andrukhou was a three-year All-Sun Belt honoree at Georgia State, earning singles first team all-league honors in 2017 and 2018, along with doubles second team all-conference in 2016 and 2017. Andrukhou helped the Panthers reach their best ranking in program history as they climbed to 30th in the nation. Georgia State won the Sun Belt Conference and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2017. 

During his junior tennis career, Andrukhou won more than 30 international and domestic junior tournaments, including the U14, U16 and U18 Belarusian Championship in both singles and doubles. He has earned two bronze medals in European Junior Championships and climbed as high as the top-250 in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) junior rankings. Andrukhou was a member of the Belarussian Davis Cup Junior National Team from 2011-13. 

Andrukhou earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Georgia State in 2018 and is expected to earn his master’s in sport management from NIU this spring.
