• Started all 13 games for NIU in 2023.
• Ranked fourth on the team in tackles with 51 and contributed 2.5 tackles for loss. 
• Recorded four tackles in win at Kent State (11/25).
• Had three tackles and a half-sack against Western Michigan (11-14) along with 1.5 tackles for loss. 
• Accounted for eight tackles, including a tackle for loss, and a pass breakup against Ball State (11-7).

• Contributed seven tackles at Nebraska (9-16).

PRIOR TO NIU 
2022 AT LAFAYETTE: Started all 11 games at safety on his way to All-Patriot League First-Team honors. Made 54 tackles (35 solo) with an interception and four passes defended. Had five or more tackles in seven games. Made eight stops at Penn (9/24). Picked off a pass in a win at Bucknell (10/1). Registered seven tackles in the Rivalry 158 win over Lehigh (11/19).

2021 FALL AT LAFAYETTE: Started 10 of 11 games at safety, earning All-Patriot League Second Team honors. Finished sixth on the team in tackles (49). Had two or more tackles in every game, including seven vs. New Hampshire (9/18) and a career-best 11 at Harvard (10/16). Selected to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll after achieving a 3.20 semester GPA.

2021 SPRING AT LAFAYETTE: Started every game in the defensive backfield, playing strong safety. Had the team’s only interception of the abbreviated season, a 28-yard pick that helped finish off a season-opening win over Colgate (3/13). Ended the campaign with 11 tackles, including a season-high seven stops in a victory over Lehigh (4/10).

2019 AT LAFAYETTE: Played in eight games and started the final six contests of the season as a rookie. Made 23 tackles and broke up a pair of passes for the Leopards, playing in the defensive backfield and on special teams. Had three or more tackles in five games. Registered a season-high six tackles in the season opener at William and Mary (8/31).

HIGH SCHOOL
Two-time All-Catholic League selection at Brother Rice in Detroit. Two-year starter who saw time at safety, outside linebacker and wide receiver. Made 53 tackles (35 solo) with three interceptions and a pair of fumble recoveries in 2018. Also had 13 receptions for 243 yards and five touchdowns at wide out. Holds the school record for longest interception return for a touchdown (90 yards). Played AAU and AYBL basketball with the Detroit All-Stars in Michigan, winning the national championship in AAU and consecutive national titles in AYBL. Honor roll student who was also a member of the National Honor Society.

PERSONAL
Son of Darin and Tracey Gilbert. Has a brother, Darin and a sister, Demilia. Birthday is May 26. Earned his degree in Business Administration.
