Takima Keane enters her second season as a Graduate Assistant on Head Coach Lisa Carlsen’s staff in 2016-17 after serving in the same capacity in Carlsen’s first season with the Huskies.
Keane assists with the team’s video operations as well as practice and other operations within the NIU women’s basketball program.
The Ajax, Ontario native played four seasons at Cleveland State where she started 50 games during her junior and senior seasons as a combo forward and guard. As a senior with the Vikings, Keane averaged 7.6 points per game and finished second on the team in assists with 74 during the season.
Keane prepped two seasons at Sinclair Secondary School, helping team to two regional titles, before playing three seasons in Canada Basketball's National Elite Development Academy. With NEDA, she competed in several national and international tournaments throughout the school year, including the Canada Basketball Invitational Tournament.
She also participated in All-Canada Basketball Weekend where she was named a top prospect. A member of Team Ontario, Keane helped the team claim National Championships in 2004 and 2007 and a silver medal in 2005.
