Biography

2024-25: Saw action in four tournaments and played 12 rounds…..Had an average of 78.6 strokes per round….Best round was during the Illini at Medinah Invite with a 70…..Best finish came at Redbird Invite

2023-24: 2023-24: Saw action in seven tournament for the Huskies, playing in 19 rounds of action….Had a season-low round score of 73 at the Redbird Invitational (Sept. 11-12)….Highest finish came at the MAC Championships, placing 49th…..Average round score of 81.05...Academic All-MAC....CSC Academic All-District....WGCA Scholar All-American

2022-23: Competed in 8 of 11 tournaments this season. Her first tournament of the season was the Redbird Invitational in which was her best finish. She scored a 74 in the final two rounds resulting in a score of 227 and tying for 12th place. Scored season-best round of 73 at Atlantic Invitational. Helped team score first place at Falcon Florida Classic with a final score of 232 while combining for seven birdies with her teammate Karen Liu. Academic All-MAC honoree.

2021-22: Added nine tournaments to her resume during her first year on the team. Owned an average round score of 77.85 which was fourth-best on the team. Logged a season-best score at the team's opening tournament, the Redbird Invitational (Sept. 5-6). Her round three score of 1-over par 73 helped the team cruise to third-place finish. Capped the season with a top-10 finish at the MAC Championships (April 22-24) - she carded a 74 on Sunday for the second-straight day to tie for ninth at 14-over 230. Recognized as a 2021-22 All-American Scholar by the Women's Golf Coaches Association.   

Prior to NIU: Became the first player from Iceland to reach the finals of the British Women’s Amateur Championship, played at Kilmarnock (Barassie) in Scotland in the summer of 2021. Shot rounds of 81-76 in stroke play before defeating five opponents in match play to reach the 36-hole final. A member of the Icelandic National Women’s Team for 2021 after three years (2018-20) on the Icelandic Girls National Team. Tied for fourth at the Icelandic Women’s Championship in 2020. A three-time Icelandic Stroke Play U-18 Champion (2017, 2019, 2020). Also won the Icelandic Match Play U-18 title in 2019. Twice earned recognition on the girls Order of Merit in Iceland. Named the junior player of the year at The Reykjavik Golf Club in 2019.
 
Personal: Father, Ludvik Bergvinsson is an attorney and her mother, Thora Gunnarsdottir is a sociologist in Reykjavik.
