2020: Starter on bars, beam and floor exercise for the Huskies. Competed in eight of nine meets on bars and nine times on both beam and floor. Scored a season-high 9.725 three times on bars. Scored 9.700 or higher on balance beam in six of nine meets and averaged a 9.711 on the year. Posted a career best 9.900 to win balance beam at Eastern Michigan (2-7). One of just 11 gymnasts in NIU history to score a 9.900 or higher on beam. On floor, recorded a season-best 9.800 in each of the last three meets and scored a 9.725 or higher in six of nine meets on floor. Earned Academic All-MAC recognition. Named a WCGA Scholastic All-American.
2019: Starter on three events (bars, beam, floor); MAC team champion (first in school history. One of just two three-event gymnasts consistently in the Huskie line-up. Her NQS on floor exercise of 9.845 ranked second on the team and her 9.785 on balance beam was third behind the Huskies’ two beam specialists. Averaged a 9.808 on floor with eight top five finishes. Won floor exercise in a dual meet at UIC. Earned a career and season best 9.900 on floor versus Bowling Green and UIC. Played a big role in the NIU floor squad breaking the old school record three times during the year. Also a part of the record-breaking beam team at MAC Championships with a career best 9.850 as the Huskies on the MAC on that event. Scored 9.750 or better on beam in six of NIU’s last seven meets. On floor, posted nine scores of 9.800 or higher, including a 9.850 at the MAC Championships and a 9.875 at both the State of Illinois Classic and at Ball State as NIU set a new school record on the event. On bars, had six scores of 9.725 or higher; hit all three of her routines at the MAC Championships. Made Academic All-State, Dean’s List.
2018: Started season competing all four events. Earned 11 scores of 9.800 or higher including four on bars, three on beam and four on floor. At the MAC Championship, marked a 9.750 (tied 22nd) on bars, a 9.775 on beam (tied 22nd) and a 9.700 (tied 27th) on floor. Named to the Academic All-MAC team as only one of two student athletes with a 4.000 GPA.
2017: Competed in all 11 competitions on the uneven parallel bars lineup. She competed on vault in two meets as an exhibitionist, balance beam three times on the lineup and five times as an exhibitionist as well as floor in three competitions. She set her season high against Lindenwood, Iowa and Western Michigan (Jan. 8) on bars with a 9.825 and tied it at the State of Illinois Classic hosted by Illinois State (March 4) and again the following week at Central Michigan (March 11).
Prep: Trained and was voted “most valuable gymnast” three years in a row by Integrity Athletics...Started her high school career very strong and was named state champion for Ohio Level 9 gymnastics...After her freshman year, she competed as a level 10 gymnast for three years and was a four-time national qualifier 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016...She placed 2nd All-Around at regionals in 2016 with a score of 37.425 making her part of the region five dream team for the fouth straight year...During the 2016 level 10 nationals, she scored an AA score of 37.375...As a level 10 gymnast, she scored career highs of 9.525 on beam, 9.5 floor, 9.50 vault and 9.475 bars...In addition to gymnastics, Richardson earned a varsity letter in high school cheerleading at Marysville High School and was a member of the National Honor Society.
Personal: Born September 15, 1998 in Westerville, Ohio. Daughter of C.J. and Kimberly Richardson. A nursing major.
