Bars - 9.925 (NIU Beauty and the Beast Meet, 2-4-23)
Beam - 9.925 (3x, last time at NCAA Regionals, 3-31-23)
2023
- Huskie specialist on uneven parallel bars and balance beam made her first NCAA Regional appearance after becoming the first gymnast in NIU history to qualify on both bars and beam in the same year.
- Her beam routine at NCAA Denver Regional earned a 9.925, the highest score ever on that event by a NIU gymnast in NCAA Regional competition.
- Tied for third in the meet behind gymnasts from nationally ranked teams LSU and Oregon State.
- Scored a 9.800 on bars at the NCAA Regional meet.
- The Huskies’ anchor on balance beam each of the last two seasons posted a NQS of 9.880 to lead NIU and tie for third in the MAC.
- Named second team All Mid-American Conference thanks to her NQS of 9.880 on bars which ranked second in the league behind teammate Natalie Hamp.
- Her season and career high scores of 9.925 on both events were the highest by a NIU gymnast on those events in 2023.
- Scored a 9.925 on balance beam on January 29 in a home Tri-Meet versus Illinois State and Winona State.
- Came back a week later to post a 9.925 and win bars versus Kent State and Simpson; added a 9.875 to take first on balance beam and was named MAC Specialist of the Week.
- Recorded her first MAC Specialist honor on January 17 after winning bars and beam versus Iowa State in Des Moines, scoring 9.900 on bars and 9.875 on beam.
- Nursing major was also voted MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week by league faculty reps following that performance.
- First NIU gymnast to earn a score of 9.925 or higher on balance beam twice in her career after first reaching the mark vs. Illinois State in 2022.
- Earned a score of 9.825 or higher in 11 meets on bars and nine on balance beam.
- Placed in the top three nine times on bars and seven times on balance beam.
- Named to the 2023 Academic All-MAC team.
- Earned Academic All-District recognition from College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA).
2022
- A consistent member of the bars and beam lineup throughout the season.
- Scored a personal best on beam with 9.925 vs. Illinois State (2-13) while in the anchor position to earn MAC Specialist of the Week honors.
- Scored above 9.700 on bars at every meet and ended the season with personal best of 9.875 at the MAC Championships (3-19) to tie for third place.
- Had a NQS of 9.790 on bars and 9.845 on beam.
- Member of the 2022 Academic All-MAC team and was named a 2022 WCGA Scholastic All-American.
2021
- Competed in the uneven bars in five meets with NQS of 9.77 on the event.
- Was in the lead-off position for the Huskies on balance beam for five meets and had an NQS of 9.694 on the season.
- All scores on bars were above 9.675 with a personal best of 9.875 at the Illinois State Quad meet (3-7).
- Had two scores of 9.750 or higher on balance beam with a 9.775 versus Eastern Michigan (2-19) and a 9.750 at the MAC Championships (3-20).
- WCGA Scholastic All-American; member of the top ranked academic Women’s Gymnastics team in the nation.
PREP
- Trained at Twistars Gymnastics in Michigan.
- Was an Elite gymnast for two years and competed in meets such as the Secret U.S. Classic and P&G Championships.
- Qualified for the Junior International Elite National Championship.
- Level 10 Junior Olympics National Champion in the all-around in 2015 where she also won bars, was fourth on floor exercise and fifth on balance beam.
- Also was the Level 10 National Champion on the uneven parallel bars in 2017.
- Made the Level 10 top 100 gymnast list in 2017 and 2018.
- Won the 2018 Michigan State Championships in all-around, bars, and floor
- Twice named to the Region 5 All-Star Team.
PERSONAL
- A nursing major who is minoring nutrition, health and wellness.
- Parents are Christie and David Al-Ashari.
