2017: Competed in all 11 competitions for the Huskies this season on uneven parallel bars and floor earning a spot at the NCAA South Central Regional on both events. Dowdell competed on vault as an exhibitionist for the first meet and competing in the lineup for the next three meets before focusing on bars and floor. She recorded four 9.900 scores, splitting them evenly between both events. Her 9.900 scores on bars were earned versus Bowling Green (Feb. 3) and at the State of Illinois Classic hosted at Illinois State (March 4), and her 9.900 scores on floor were earned in back-to-back competitions at Central Michigan (March 11) and the MAC Championships hosted by Bowling Green (March 18). She was a part of the record-breaking floor squad that set the team event high score of 49.350 at MAC Championships hosted by Bowling Green (March 18), contributing with a 9.900. Dowdell won the MAC Specialist of the Week award during the first week of competition (Jan. 10).

2015: Compete as an all-around performer through the first four meets. However, her best performance came against Bowling Green and Alaska (2-15) scoring 9.750s in the vault and the uneven parallel bars and a career-high 9.850 on the floor. At the IGI Chicago Style Meet (2-13), she scored a pair of 9.775s in the floor exercise and bars while putting up a 9.700 on the vault. Took first place on floor at Southeast Missouri State (2-20) with a 9.825, a 9.675 on bars and a 9.400 on vault. Her best all-around score came against Lindenwood (1-23), scoring 38.125 with a 9.700 on vault, 9.625 on bars, 9.200 on beam and 9.600 on floor. She has tied or set NIU career marks this season in the vault, with a 9.775 at Central Michigan (2-6). Dropped competing on uneven parallel bars against Ball State (2-27) but she tied for fifth in floor with a 9.725 and scored 9.650 on the vault against the Cardinals. She started to find her form in floor exercise late in the season, trying for second at the State of Illinois Classic (3-7) with 9.800 and tying for third against Eastern Michigan (3-15) with a 9.825. In the MAC Championships (3-21) she scored a 9.700 on vault and floor and a 8.525 on bars.


2014: Competed in five meets before suffering a season-ending injury. Competed as an all-around competitor against Ball State (1-24) tallying season best scores with a 9.700 in vault, 9.675 in uneven parallel bars and 9.650 in floor exercise. She also added a 9.050 in the balance beam for an overall all-around score of 38.075. In the other four events she competed in the vault averaging a 9.546 score. Scored a 9.650 in both vault and uneven parallel bars while scoring exhibition scores of 9.625 in both the balance beam and floor exercise in a quadrangular meet with Iowa State, Texas Woman's and Wisconsin-Whitewater (2-16).

Prep: Trained at United Gymnastics Academy in Frankfort, IL as a Level 10 All-Around gymnast from 2010-12. Competed in the 2011 Illinois State meet where she placed third on the vault with a score of 9.475 and took fourth on the floor exercise with a score of 9.500. Advanced to the 2011 Region 5 Championships where she finished fourth scoring a career high of 9.675 on the vault. Won the vault with a score of 9.600, and the all-around by scoring 36.200 at the 13th Annual GymQuarters Invitational. Placed fourth in the all-around with a personal best of 36.400 at the 2012 Gasparilla Classic. Completed her Level 10 career with seven meets with top 10 finishes in all five events, over 50 top 10 finishes overall, and advanced to the Region 5 Championships three times.

Personal: Born on Nov. 28, 1995 in Merrillville, Ind. to parents Beatriz and Anthony Dowdell. Was an honor roll student all four years of high school and has career ambitions of being a nurse.
